is it just me, or has anyone else been experiencing consistently crazy long wait times for TTC ever since about the time of the 1 day strike a few weeks ago? i feel as though they’ve massively cut back the number of streetcars running in the mornings. i used to wait a maximum of 5 minutes on my way to work, and i haven’t waited less than 15 for the past 3 weeks. what gives?

if you are a torontonian who counts on having weekly (or perhaps daily) yardsales to support yourself, what do you do now that toronto has implemented a twice yearly yardsale law? well, this woman has adapted:

that’s right, she camped out at the end of our parking lot, facing queen, hocking a lot of “neat stuff” according to her sign. note that said “neat stuff” mostly included a lot of crappy old books, although the van completely jammed with boxes of goodies suggests that there may in fact be more goodness to be had. regardless, i give her points for adapting.

a crazy busy week at work means not enough blog posting. so, i’ll try to make up for that with a few new pics captured on my cameraphone over the last few weeks around toronto.
first of all, what’s better than a yard sale in front of the centre for mental health and addiction?

that’s right, a yard sale in front of camh, complete with a crazy person lying in among the goods. i passed.
tell me someone didn’t ship a dog in this container:

i can’t think of anything else that this label could mean, though…
here’s an organization i’d never heard of before:

christ + philadelphian = christadelphian? i did a bit of googling and discovered that christadelphians believe that the bible is the word of god and contains no errors. good choice.
finally, my cameraphone doesn’t deal too well with the dark, but seriously, who puts a live sized statue of an elephant on their lawn?

oh, right, these people.

as you may or may not recall, i’ve been posting a semi-regular series depicting weird shit i’ve discovered in my inherited storage cabinet that i’ve dubbed state of the art in 1995. today’s entry suggests that the title should be amended to state of the art in 1976:

does this remind anyone else of a simpsons episode? or, possibly, as in my case, being back in grade school. anyone else remember teachers having to splice together film after minor catastrophes?
